Measure the complete package
Include trays, projections and supports when describing an item for shrink wrapping or a tunnel. For cartons and bundles, provide the filled dimensions and weight. Explain whether the range is handled in repeated batches or changes between consecutive packages.
Specify the consumable and coverage
Send the intended film, tape or strap specification and a drawing showing where it is applied. Tape coverage, strap positions and the extent of wrapping are separate decisions. A machine name or arch size alone does not define the required package result.
Separate adjustment from feeding
Repeated carton sizes and mixed-size sequences raise different adjustment questions. Also describe who prepares flaps, supports the carton and transfers it into the station. Do not assume automatic size adjustment or flap handling unless it is part of the proposed configuration.
Define the mark independently
For coding, provide the actual surface, print content, character height and location. State how the package is presented and handled after marking. A request for a date code does not identify an ink, substrate combination or printing technology by itself.
Draw the station interfaces
Show working heights, travel direction and where operators need access. Identify the equipment already available and the handovers requiring discussion. A list of machines is not proof that the transfer between them has been designed.
Details to prepare
| Task | Define before comparing equipment |
|---|---|
| Shrink packaging | Complete item envelope, film and existing sealing stage |
| Carton sealing | Size sequence, flap preparation and tape coverage |
| Strapping | Load, strap specification and placement |
| Coding | Surface, message, position and subsequent handling |
Use the relevant category to compare the available layouts, then send a package sketch with consumable and transfer details. Keep shipping-pack requirements distinct from primary food-contact packaging.
